Time is a very cruel master. We lose a lot of time as it goes on, including our innocence, carefree days, and, last but not least, our youth and energy. Even though science has come a long way, we still haven’t figured out how to turn back time, especially when it comes to the damage it does to our skin.
As sad as that sounds, don’t worry, because we took it upon ourselves to find a few do-it-yourself ways to keep your face firm, wrinkle-free, and unaffected by the cruel hands of time. We have a list of exercises that will help you get older in a healthy way. You can do them at home, and they will be more effective than buying a dozen expensive anti-aging creams. What do these moves do? Let’s find out by reading on.
Face Massage
It is said to be both very relaxing and good for the blood flow in your face. Face massage also tones the muscles in your face, which keeps wrinkles from showing up. Wash your hands and face before you do this exercise. Then, start massaging your face by moving your fingers from the bottom of your forehead to the top, toward your hairline.
You can also massage your head by making circles with your fingertips. After that, move to your cheeks and pat them in the direction of your temples. To see results, you need to do this about 20 times, twice or three times a week.
Contrast Massage
This exercise should also help you get rid of a double chin. For this exercise, you will need water that is just a little bit cold, a tablespoon of salt, and a towel. First, put the salt in the water. Then, fold the towel in half and soak it in the salty water. Now, take the towel’s ends and pat your chin with them. Ten times, do this step. Then, switch the cold water for tepid water. Do the same thing again with warm water.
The Alphabet
Yes, the exercise is just as simple as its name. It’s supposed to help strengthen facial muscles that may have gotten weaker over time and make wrinkles less noticeable. For this exercise, all you have to do is recite the alphabet. Saying “O” or “X” can help you work out the muscles in your face. Doing this a few times a day can be a great way to start a beauty routine that will help you look younger.
Face Gymnastics
Don’t let the name of this exercise trick you into thinking that you have to do somersaults. Close your eyes, then put your hands on your forehead and gently press them together. Try to move your eyes in a clockwise direction while you do this. You can get rid of the fine lines around your eyes and nose by doing this exercise.
Part of this exercise is holding air in your mouth. This is known as puffing. Take a deep breath and keep it in your mouth. Then, try shifting the breath from one cheek to the other. Do this for 10 seconds. This exercise is meant to help with droopy cheeks and lines around the mouth.
Funny Faces
These exercises not only give you a chance to give your face new life, but they also give you a chance to have some fun. As part of this exercise, all you have to do is make a funny face. You can do this by raising your eyebrows so that they are at their highest point. You can also stick out your tongue and try to bring it close to your chin. Both of these are good ways to make people laugh and work out the muscles in your face.
Clown Face
This is a popular method that aims to strengthen the muscles we use when we smile. This can help us avoid getting smile lines for a little longer. In this exercise, all you have to do is smile as big as you can. Follow this step by making a funny face with your nose and eyebrows. This should take about ten seconds. Next, stop smiling and for about 5 seconds, slightly lower your chin. Do the whole workout for 5 minutes. You’ll notice a difference after doing this just three times per week.
Aren’t these cheap ways to fight aging the best? But don’t forget that besides doing these exercises, you also need to take care of your skin by moisturizing it well, wearing sunscreen to avoid sun damage, eating well, and getting enough sleep. If you do all of these things, you will keep your good looks for a very long time.
