How to Remove Mold without Harmful Chemicals?

4 min

Vinegar

White vinegar, which has a pH of 2.8, can be used as a cleaning agent because of its moderate acidity. Furthermore, it is effective against black mold and 82% of other mold species on both porous and non-porous surfaces. The unpleasant odor quickly dissipates, and it is safe to use on most surfaces.

Fill a spray bottle halfway with white vinegar that has not been diluted. Since only about 20% of white vinegar is acetic acid, adding water makes it less effective. For best results, spray the moldy surface with vinegar and let it sit for an hour. Lastly, wipe the spot clean with water and let the surface dry. White vinegar should be used undiluted, so fill a spray container halfway. After a few hours, the smell of vinegar should be gone.
