It’s not a good idea to try to clean your clothes iron by filling it with vinegar. Some people have had success using a vinegar solution to remove scale from their irons; however, you should always verify the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure that the iron’s metal components are safe from the acid. If you want to prevent scale building in the future, fill the reservoir with distilled water and then empty it after each usage.
