Can Lilies Be Harmful?
The lily is an elegant plant with a graceful flow. It’s an excellent way to brighten up your outdoor space and interior decor. However, only a select few lily species are non-toxic in the home; the others should be avoided, particularly if you have cats. Every element of the lily plant—the leaves, the stems, and the flowers—is toxic to cats. Listed below are a few species to keep an eye out for:
- Calla lily
- Easter lily
- Rubrum lily
- Tiger lily
- Day lily
- Asian lily
Mild effects including vomiting, tiredness, and loss of appetite are possible, whereas more severe reactions, such as coma or death, are possible if not treated in time. In other words, if you have pets at home, you shouldn’t keep this plant.
